What you
can offer
One day of
your time: April 26th, 2008 or other days
during the year.
Skilled
labor
We need
carpenters, electricians, plumbers, roofers, painters,
and contractors to address structural issues like
leaking roofs, faulty wiring, and plumbing problems. We
supply building materials and the support of other
skilled volunteers. You provide your knowledge,
experience, and a day of your time. Please bring your
tools.
Unskilled
labor
Everyone
can help. We need volunteers to help paint, clean, and
perform numerous other small household jobs. We provide
guidance, all material, and set up teams of 10-20
volunteers at each house. Encourage your friends,
families, and co-workers to volunteer, too, and make a
great day of it. Many hands make light work! Please wear
your work clothes. Children under 14 years old are not
allowed to volunteer.
What
you get
-
The
satisfaction of helping transform the home of a person
who otherwise couldn't afford to make much needed
repairs;
-
The
camaraderie of the volunteers who you will work with at
your house site;A good feeling you get from being part
of 1,200 to 1,500 volunteers that made a big difference
in Portland in one day
-
A t-shirt
-
Free food
and drink.
Volunteer
Groups
Volunteer
groups from companies, associations, churches, schools
and other sources are a great fit with Rebuilding
Together Portland projects. Teambuilding, development,
community involvement and great fun comes from working
on a worthy project together. We can put your group on
a project or projects together to fit your goals on
either the big day in April or at other times of the
year. We just need a contact person for a group to get
started.
To sign-up,
use our
online form or the
print and fax method if you want to
volunteer. (When you sign up, you will receive an email
asking if you signed up with us. We are an anti spam site.
Easy opt-out links will be included in emails we send to
you.) Please sign up at least two weeks before the big
April project.
